Algae and mildew. It starts on the north side, where the sun never quite dries the siding, and creeps outward from there. It anchors into the surface — that's why rinsing doesn't work.

The proper method
We don't blast. We wash.
Cranking up the pressure is how siding gets ruined: water forced up behind the boards, vinyl etched by the wand, paint peeled off in strips. A house wash is chemistry first, water second — the detergent loosens and kills the growth, and low pressure just carries it away.

Will pressure washing damage my siding?
High pressure can — it forces water up behind the boards, dings up vinyl, and can strip paint right off. That's why we don't use it on houses. We soft wash: about the pressure of a garden hose, with a detergent that does the actual cleaning. Same result, none of the damage.
What's the green stuff growing on my house?
Usually algae and mildew. It shows up on the north-facing and shaded sides first, because those walls stay damp longest. It's not just cosmetic — left alone it keeps spreading and holds moisture against the siding.
Is the detergent safe for my plants and pets?
Yes. We soak your landscaping with plain water before we start, keep the detergent on the siding where it belongs, and rinse everything down when we're done. If you've got a sensitive garden bed or a fish pond, tell us and we'll plan around it.
How long will the house stay clean?
Most houses look great for one to two years. Heavily shaded, tree-lined lots grow green back faster and are often on a yearly schedule. Sunnier exposures can go longer between washes.
How much does a house wash cost?

Do I need to be home while you wash?
Nope. As long as we can get to an outside spigot and the windows are shut, we can handle it while you're at work. We text before-and-after photos when we're done either way.
